When we carry out a soil resistivity exam, we have been injecting a test signal (electrical Power) in the surface on the earth, down through the soil to numerous depths, and recording the loss of Strength as a resistance.  Since the electrical exam signal passes from one particular layer to another, the check signal will degrade in proportion to y
